Walter Astral is a duo composed of Tristan Thomas also known as Zaspéro and former captain at Ovhal 44, and Tino Gelli the lead singer of the band Polycool. Despite pulling inspiration from seemingly different musical spheres, they are both driven by the same love of fantasy and the absurd, where their distinct grooves intertwine into mystical trances. Walter Astral’s music is at the crossroad of psychedelic pop and acid techno music. Tristan’s Acid bass and drum machines blend with Tino’s vintage guitar sound and a banjo that’s so old that it’s sounds like a saz. Their hybrid musical style finds it’s influences in artists like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Flavien Berger, Altin Gün and Mehmet Aslan.
Walter Astral will release a new project in 2024.
